How to use Macros in Excel?

Macros are written in a programming language called Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). VBA is a simple language that is easy to learn.

You do not need to be a programmer to use macros. However, if you are familiar with programming, you can use VBA to create more complex macros.

There are two ways to use macros in Excel:

In the VBE, select Insert > Module. This will insert a new blank module into the VBE.

In the new module, paste the code below.

For example, the following code will create a macro that will Remove Date from Date and Time:

Sub removeDate()
Dim Rng As Range
For Each Rng In Selection
If IsDate(Rng) = True Then
Rng.Value = Rng.Value - VBA.Fix(Rng.Value)

NextSelection.NumberFormat = "hh:mm:ss am/pm"
